Launched on September 23, 2026, the Denza Z9S is positioned as a pure electric sedan, with the Flash Charging Flagship trim priced at 275,800 yuan. It packs a 122.5 kWh second-generation Blade Battery, delivering a CLTC range of 1,100 km — currently the highest for any mass-produced pure electric sedan.

Charging is equally brisk: leveraging BYD’s 1,000V high-voltage flash charging platform, a 10% to 97% charge takes just 9 minutes, while 10% to 70% takes only 5. The Z9S expands Denza’s sedan portfolio in the 250,000 to 330,000 yuan price bracket, complementing the Z9GT in a layout that balances sportiness with luxury.

The BYD Grand Han EV officially launched on October 13, 2026, marking the Dynasty Network’s first D-class flagship pure electric sedan. Measuring 5,256 mm in length with a wheelbase exceeding 3.1 meters, the rear-wheel-drive version utilizes a 102.3 kWh second-generation Blade Battery to achieve a CLTC range of 1,008 km. With a drag coefficient of 0.197 and standard dual-chamber air suspension plus rear-wheel steering, the three-trim lineup is priced between 235,900 and 275,900 yuan. It brings D-class dimensions to the 230,000 yuan segment. The Grand Han EV clears the 1,000 km hurdle with a 102.3 kWh battery, showcasing BYD’s path to long range via energy density improvements and energy consumption control within its lithium iron phosphate system.

Unveiled at the 2021 Guangzhou Auto Show and launched on January 5, 2022, the AION LX Plus 1000km Edition was the first mass-produced pure electric model in China to exceed 1,000 km range. It features GAC Aion’s self-developed sponge silicon anode battery with a capacity of 144.4 kWh, delivering a CLTC range of 1,008 km. Positioned as an "Intelligent Long-Range Pure Electric Flagship" SUV, this top-tier trim carried a guide price of 469,600 yuan — roughly 180,000 yuan above the entry-level model. The high price created a gap with Aion’s market positioning at the time, leading to limited market acceptance and consistently low monthly sales. Yet, its status as the pioneer of domestic 1,000 km-class pure electric production cars remains significant.

Deliveries of the Yangwang U7 EV began in June 2025, with the 2026 model year later upgraded to the second-generation Blade Battery. Boasting a capacity of 150.01 kWh, it achieves a CLTC range of 1,006 km. Charging is powered by megawatt-class flash charging technology with a 9C rate: 10% to 70% takes 5 minutes, and 10% to 97% takes 9 minutes, with only a 3-minute increase in -30°C environments. As a million-yuan flagship sedan, the Yangwang U7 EV currently holds one of the largest battery capacities among mass-produced pure electric sedans.

NIO ET7 150kWh Edition

The NIO ET7 150kWh edition utilizes a semi-solid-state battery pack with an energy density of 360 Wh/kg and a claimed CLTC range of 1,050 km. In December 2023, NIO CEO William Li drove an ET7 equipped with this pack for a real-world test, covering 1,044 km with 3% remaining, averaging 13.2 kWh per 100 km. Trial operations began in May 2025, with general availability opening in June. The pack is not sold with the car but offered via flexible upgrade leasing. This "chargeable, swappable, and upgradable" ownership model provides an alternative path to experiencing 1,000 km range, distinct from outright purchase.

The long-wheelbase BMW Neue Klasse i3 made its global debut ahead of the Beijing Auto Show in April 2026. Slated for local production by BMW Brilliance, its market launch targets the fourth quarter of 2026 to early 2027. Equipped with 108.7 kWh large cylindrical cells and an 800V architecture, it exceeds 1,000 km CLTC range (900 km WLTP). Charging supports 400 kW ultra fast charging, adding roughly 400 km of CLTC range in 10 minutes, and going from 10% to 80% in 21 minutes. BMW’s 1,000 km solution represents the production pace of foreign brands on the "large cylindrical + 800V" route.

Dongfeng eπ007 (Solid-State Battery Edition)

The Dongfeng eπ007 solid-state edition features a self-developed oxide-polymer composite semi-solid-state battery with an energy density of 350 Wh/kg and a CLTC range exceeding 1,000 km. The battery offers advantages in high-temperature resistance, crush resistance, and low-temperature performance, having passed -40°C road tests with a 72% energy retention rate at -30°C. This version officially entered mass production and installation at the Wuhan pilot line in September 2026, with a pre-sale price of 150,000 to 200,000 yuan. However, it remains in the small-batch verification phase, requiring capacity ramp-up before mass delivery. The existing eπ007 pure electric version offers 550–650 km CLTC range; swapping in the semi-solid-state battery propels it directly into the 1,000 km bracket — a significant upgrade.

The Exeed ES8 serves as the debut verification model for Chery’s Rhino S all-solid-state battery. Utilizing a sulfide electrolyte and lithium metal anode route, the cell targets an energy density of 400–600 Wh/kg, enabling a vehicle range exceeding 1,500 km (with 1,000 km serving as one validation threshold). According to Chery’s timeline, targeted operational installation begins in Q4 2026, with verification completion and gradual production ramp-up in 2027; mass availability will follow after 2027. The upper limit of energy density for all-solid-state batteries far exceeds that of liquid and semi-solid systems, making it the industry’s recognized critical direction. The Exeed ES8’s roadmap objectively reflects the early stage of transitioning all-solid-state batteries from the lab to real-vehicle verification.

Summary

Mass-produced 1,000 km-class models offer users diverse choices, including standard purchase, battery leasing, and limited optional kits. The BYD family relies on Blade Battery technology to rapidly expand across multiple brands, while other players continue to break ground on frontiers like semi-solid-state batteries. The camp awaiting delivery is equally dynamic, with the Denza N8 launching soon, and BMW, Dongfeng, and Chery steadily advancing on new battery routes. As automakers’ technologies mature, 1,000 km range is shifting from a singular technical benchmark to a tangible option enriching the travel experience.
