The two companies will jointly target India's accelerating shift toward vehicle intelligence, collaborating on the deployment of smart automotive solutions and the localization of component manufacturing. The agreement represents a major milestone in MINIEYE's "going global 2.0" strategy and its first formal entry into the Indian market.

At its core, the partnership is designed to combine complementary strengths, creating a closed-loop collaboration that links advanced technology with established local market access.

MINIEYE will contribute its fully self-developed technology stack, supplying solutions such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and driver monitoring systems (DMS) for both passenger and commercial vehicles. Sterling, with nearly five decades of industry experience, brings deep relationships with local automakers as well as proven capabilities in component manufacturing and regulatory compliance within India.

India's automotive sector is entering a critical phase of safety upgrades. Regulations mandate that from January 1, 2027, all newly launched vehicle models must be equipped with ADAS as well as driver drowsiness and attention warning systems (DDAWS).

These regulatory requirements are expected to generate substantial demand for ADAS and smart cockpit solutions, opening up significant market opportunities for the partnership.

Building on the MoU, the two sides are also exploring the localization of production for key intelligent components, a move aimed at reducing costs and improving supply-chain responsiveness.

Before this step, MINIEYE had completed a "going global 1.0" phase by supporting Chinese OEMs in exporting vehicles to Europe and other regions. Through these programs, the company steadily expanded its global footprint while building a strong portfolio of international certifications, laying the groundwork for its next phase of overseas expansion.

In Europe, regulations already require all new vehicles to be equipped with DMS. As one of the first Chinese suppliers to support OEM models in obtaining EU General Safety Regulation certifications for DDAW and ADDW, MINIEYE further strengthened its credentials this year by achieving Automotive SPICE (ASPICE) V4.0 CL3 certification, underscoring its technical depth in the smart cockpit domain.

The partnership with Sterling signals the official launch of MINIEYE's "going global 2.0" strategy. By building an ecosystem with a leading local partner, the company aims to overcome regional market barriers more efficiently while accumulating critical localization experience for future global expansion.

Looking ahead, both parties plan to use the MoU as a starting point to accelerate execution, with a focus on product localization, regulatory certification, and the establishment of local mass production for key components.
