This center marks a strategic step in BTL's efforts to refine its global R&D network. With an office area exceeding 6,000 square meters, it houses nearly 1,000 chassis R&D personnel. Its primary mandate: integrating headquarters resources, tackling core technologies, and enabling cross-disciplinary collaboration. As the research team consolidates, BTL aims to bolster its headquarters' R&D capabilities and optimize global resource allocation, providing robust support for smart chassis innovation and business expansion.
BTL's Wuhu headquarters has long spearheaded the group's core R&D, independently launching products such as electro-mechanical braking (EMB), wire-controlled braking (WCBS), and electronic parking braking (EPB). With the entire team relocating to the new center, synergy across mechanics, hydraulics, hardware, software, algorithms, and functional safety is set to improve. This move should facilitate smoother technical exchanges and project collaboration among disciplines.
On the capacity and R&D front, BTL completed its acquisition of Yubei Steering in June 2026, bringing the total number of R&D centers to nine and production bases to 21. The company is accelerating the construction of a collaborative, efficient innovation and delivery network spanning domestic and international markets.
According to its roadmap, BTL will use the Qingting Lake center as a core hub to link branches in Shanghai, Xinxiang, Hefei, and Xi'an with overseas centers in Detroit and Frankfurt, continuously optimizing its global R&D layout. The company will focus on automotive smart chassis systems, aiming to build an indigenous R&D framework covering braking (X-axis), steering (Y-axis), and suspension (Z-axis) through to intelligent driving. BTL is positioning itself to become one of the few global suppliers capable of providing full-range XYZ chassis solutions with system-level integration.
