Gasgoo Munich- On September 28, GWM officially launched the Haval Dargo HEV, introducing three models with a guide price of 119,900 to 137,900 yuan. A limited-time promotional price brings the range down to 105,900 to 123,900 yuan. The new model offers two hybrid powertrain options: the Hi2 two-wheel-drive and the Hi4 four-wheel-drive systems, signaling that the Dargo is now rounding out its hybrid lineup beyond internal combustion engines.

Breaking from the traditional launch format, GWM turned a long-distance fuel consumption test into a live event. The drive spanned from low-altitude regions to areas above 1,500 meters, covering city streets, highways, and national roads in a livestream lasting roughly 18 hours. Reports indicate the vehicle covered about 1,050 kilometers with a displayed fuel consumption of 5.6L/100km.

Energy efficiency is the core selling point for the Dargo HEV. Both the Hi2 two-wheel-drive and Hi4 four-wheel-drive versions have earned Level 1 energy efficiency certification from the China Automotive Technology and Research Center (CATARC). The two-wheel-drive model recorded a fuel consumption of 4.6L/100km with a full tank, delivering a combined range of 1,381.36 km; the four-wheel-drive version managed 4.94L/100km and 1,138.89 km, respectively. Its 1.5T hybrid-specific engine achieves a thermal efficiency of 41.5%, reducing energy loss through intelligent decoupling and power mode switching across various driving conditions.
On the powertrain front, both systems deliver a combined output of 182 kW. The Hi2 two-wheel-drive version generates 535 N·m of torque, while the Hi4 four-wheel-drive variant utilizes dual motors—front and rear—to produce 670 N·m. It also features an electronically controlled mechanical dog-clutch differential lock on the rear axle, further enhancing capability on complex terrain.

Intelligent features are also a key focus of this upgrade. The new model comes equipped with the Coffee Pilot 3 Lite driver-assistance system and 26 sensing hardware units, enabling highway and city NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) along with remote parking. The cabin boasts a 15.6-inch central control screen, a 10.25-inch instrument cluster, and W-HUD. For the Haval Dargo, the significance of this HEV version lies not just in lower fuel consumption, but in bringing hybrid, four-wheel-drive, and advanced driver-assistance capabilities to the 100,000–130,000 yuan price bracket—a segment facing intense competition in the mainstream SUV market.
