Per the announcement, NavInfo will provide high-precision maps, lane-level navigation application services, high-precision maps of parking lots, and automatic parking software modules for the new-generation mass-produced vehicle models under FAW Group’s premium auto brand, Hongqi, from 2024 to 2029.
FAW Hongqi has been actively embracing the digital transformation of intelligent connected vehicles.
In May this year, China’s AI chip developer Horizon Robotics landed a procurement project from Hongqi to deploy its Journey series chips onto several Hongqi models. The duo plans to build an intelligent driving domain controller based on the Journey 5 chips, providing strong AI computing power of 384-512 TOPS for Hongqi’s new-generation FEEA 3.0 electronic and electrical architecture. The domain controller can be expected for mass production on Hongqi’s new models in 2023.
Later on June 1st, the Chinese LiDAR supplier RoboSense announced that it has struck a deal with Hongqi to deploy its products onto the latter’s vehicles. Per the agreement, Hongqi will adopt multiple units of RoboSense’s second-generation intelligent solid-state LiDAR in its FEEA3.0 autonomous driving platform, elevating its integrated perception solution. The platform will be massively implemented onto Hongqi’s several new models in 2023.
