UiSense and Lufthansa have announced a strategic partnership during the GSE Expo Europe 2026 in Lisbon, Portugal, which runs from September 15 to 17. The two companies will launch a Level 4 autonomous driving project at Munich Airport in Germany.

The partnership will focus on three key areas: intelligent ground operations, digital transformation in civil aviation, and green aviation initiatives. Together, they aim to jointly develop and refine smart aviation solutions that meet global standards. Munich Airport is one of Europe's largest hubs and ranks among the top ten in SkyTrax's 2026 list of the world's best airports.
Wu Gansha, co-founder, chairman, and CEO of UiSense, said the companies will leverage their mature Level 4 autonomous driving products and operational systems. The goal is to explore pathways for deploying autonomous vehicles on the tarmac within international airline frameworks, helping to cut costs, boost efficiency, and drive the aviation industry's green transition.
Lufthansa operates across the full aviation value chain, covering passenger and cargo transport, ground services, and technical support. UiSense, meanwhile, has already achieved large-scale commercial deployment of Level 4 autonomous driving in airport environments, bringing extensive experience in implementation and operations to the partnership.
