Gasgoo Munich-The 2026 World Intelligent Connected Vehicle Conference runs from October 21 to 23 at the Beijing Yizhuang Biren Yichuang International Convention and Exhibition Center. Speaking at the plenary session on the afternoon of the 21st, BAIC Group Chairman Zhang Jianyong stated that the industry is moving beyond a phase of homogeneous spec-stacking into a new era of differentiated experiences. Hardware accumulation will eventually converge, he suggested, but it is the divergence in user experience that will determine success.
In the first nine months of the year, sales of BAIC's proprietary brands surpassed 800,000 units, consolidating their position as the core growth driver. New energy vehicle sales jumped 43.2% year-on-year, outpacing the broader market. Meanwhile, Arcfox achieved new breakthroughs in overseas exports as the group celebrated a milestone: delivering to its 40 millionth user globally.
He outlined the strategy for breaking the impasse into three pillars: moving upmarket, staying user-centric, and fortifying the technical base.
Facing this new stage of intelligent connectivity, BAIC is focusing on specific scenarios to deepen the user experience.
Zhang stated that while many models feature numerous smart functions, few see high-frequency usage. Intelligence cannot be defined by cold specs alone; it requires perceptible emotional value. The goal is to define technology through scenarios and create value through experience.
BAIC is implementing a three-pronged strategy focusing on intelligent driving, smart cockpits, and smart chassis.
In intelligent driving, the company pursues a dual-track strategy of open cooperation and proprietary development. Working with partners like Huawei, Momenta, and Horizon Robotics, BAIC is deepening its self-developed "Yuanjing" tech system. The focus is on algorithms, models, data, and safety rather than the excessive pursuit of computing power and LiDAR. The aim is to build a "One Core, Three Rings" safety architecture that covers the entire vehicle lifecycle.
The cockpit strategy is based on "Physical AI." BAIC has established Beijing Yuanqi Physical Intelligence Technology to build a full-stack system spanning computing power, large models, and hardware terminals — all to create a personal intelligent assistant that truly understands the user. The next-generation products, featuring the new Boson Agent cockpit, will launch next year.
Committed to independent chassis development, BAIC has introduced the "Yuanjing AI Chassis." Deployed across four platforms — B, E, S, and T — the system uses proprietary algorithms adapted for city, highway, and off-road scenarios to precisely regulate vehicle posture, suspension damping, and braking response.
Zhang emphasized that BAIC remains committed to long-term development, pursuing a differentiated path. By driving the brand upmarket, staying user-oriented, building a technical foundation, and innovating through the "Three Smarts," the group aims to convert its full-lineup advantages into user value — contributing to the nation's drive to become an automotive powerhouse.
