Shanghai Zhenhua Bearing General Factory Co., Ltd., based in Jiading, has announced that its bearings for industrial and embodied robots have entered volume supply, according to a report by Gasgoo Embodied Intelligence.
A typical humanoid robot has dozens of joints, and each requires bearings for harmonic reducers, joint modules, and dexterous fingertip pivots. Ultimately, every movement the robot makes relies on these rolling elements.
To address development challenges such as lightweighting, high precision, high rigidity, and limited installation space, Zhenhua Bearing’s R&D team has focused on specialized harmonic reducer bearings for robot arms, wrists, and hands. Their research centers on four core technologies—dynamic simulation optimization, precision raceway grinding, precision assembly, and life testing—building an integrated R&D system that spans design, manufacturing, and verification.
Zhenhua Bearing now successfully supplies components for both harmonic and RV reducers. All reducer bearings meet the P4 ultra-precision standard, covering every model in the harmonic reducer Series 8 through Series 50.
These deliveries mark a step toward the localization of precision transmission bearings in robotics. Zhenhua Bearing also participated in drafting several national standards for industrial robot bearings. Recently, the company showcased its robot joint bearings at an artificial intelligence pilot base, highlighting its breakthrough in localizing this critical technology.
Zhenhua Bearing’s portfolio now spans more than 600 varieties, including tensioner, flexible, and cross-roller bearings. With an annual output of 84 million sets, its products are exported across Europe, the Americas, Japan, Australia, and Southeast Asia. General Manager Wang Yangcheng stated that the company will continue to deepen its expertise in basic components while leveraging AI and data to enhance grinding, assembly, testing, and operations.
