Gasgoo Munich- GAC Group announced that it will host a customer appreciation event on July 16 to celebrate reaching 30 million vehicle users. The milestone comes amid steady business momentum. From January through May, GAC Group sold approximately 628,200 vehicles, up 3.8% year over year. May sales reached around 127,300 units, representing an 8.18% increase from the same month last year. Among the group's recent product highlights, the AION i6—developed under GAC's revamped vehicle development process—has surpassed monthly sales of 10,000 units. The AISTALAND GT7, jointly developed with Huawei, has also been launched on schedule, while the Bozhi series produced by GAC Toyota continues to record strong market demand.
GAC Group also highlighted its quality assurance system, which it refers to as the "Five Highs, One Mountain and One Dust" validation framework. Under the testing regime, new vehicles undergo extensive evaluations covering extreme heat, severe cold and challenging road conditions, while key components are subjected to enhanced durability testing. Before leaving the factory, every vehicle also passes AI-powered visual inspections that examine paint quality and component assembly across the entire production process.

Founded in 1997, GAC Group began as a relatively small-scale automaker with annual production of fewer than 10,000 vehicles. Over nearly three decades, the company has expanded into a diversified automotive group combining both proprietary and joint-venture businesses across seven major operating segments. Its annual production and sales have surpassed 2 million vehicles, while its cumulative industrial output value has approached 5 trillion yuan.
As China's automotive industry undergoes rapid transformation, GAC launched its "Panyu Action" initiative in 2024 to accelerate organizational reform. The program integrates research and development, manufacturing, supply chain management and sales into a unified operating platform while shifting decision-making closer to frontline operations. The company has also introduced management frameworks including DSTE, IPD, IPMS and ITR, aiming to shorten vehicle development cycles and improve responsiveness to market demand and customer service needs.
Looking ahead, GAC Group said it will continue advancing its reform agenda while maintaining investment in core technologies to strengthen its products and services. June 28 marked the company's 29th anniversary, and cumulative vehicle production and sales are now on the verge of exceeding 30 million units. According to GAC, the figure reflects not only the scale of its manufacturing operations but also the mobility needs of millions of households that have chosen its vehicles over the past three decades.
