Gasgoo Munich-From November 4 to 6, the 2026 Schaeffler China Automotive Technology Symposium is being held in Suzhou, attracting more than 800 automotive industry customers. The event features over 30 technical presentations, more than 500 products and over 10 test-drive vehicles, showcasing Schaeffler's technologies across key business areas, including passenger cars, commercial vehicles, two-wheelers and powersports vehicles.
Vehicle Control and Electrified Powertrain Technologies
The symposium focuses on four key areas: vehicle control, chassis and body, powertrain, and energy management. In vehicle control, Schaeffler presented its portfolio for software-defined vehicles, covering sensors, actuators, high- and low-voltage vehicle electrical systems, edge controllers, zonal control units (ZCUs) and high-performance computing units (HPCs). These solutions support the shift toward zonal and centralized electrical/electronic architectures. By consolidating the control functions of individual components at the vehicle level, the approach can reduce the number of controllers, enable hardware reuse across vehicle generations and shorten development cycles.
For powertrains, Schaeffler showcased solutions for hybrid electric vehicles (HEVs), plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs), battery electric vehicles (BEVs) and range-extended electric vehicles (REEVs). These include P1 generator modules, P1.5 generator-drive units and P1+P3 dedicated hybrid transmissions, as well as highly integrated electric drive systems, coaxial e-axles, reduction gearboxes, transmission components, bearings, power electronics, control systems and software. Its chassis and body technologies include fully active suspension, rear-wheel steering, steer-by-wire, low-friction wheel bearings and contactless body access systems.
Expanding into Robotics and the Low-Altitude Economy
In energy management, Schaeffler presented solutions covering power distribution, charging, battery control and cabin thermal management. These include thermal management systems using new refrigerants and new power conversion products. Beyond the automotive sector, the company is also expanding its technology portfolio into humanoid robotics and the low-altitude economy. Its offerings include key subsystems and components for humanoid robots, scenario-based training and data services, as well as high-performance technologies for electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) and electric conventional take-off and landing (eCTOL) aircraft.
Schaeffler said China remains a strategic market for the company. It will continue to strengthen its local R&D, manufacturing and service capabilities, while advancing technological innovation and ecosystem collaboration to provide system-level solutions for the automotive industry and emerging applications.
