The lineup included three all-electric flagship models — the EX90, ES90 and EM90 — alongside two hybrid models, the XC90 and XC70. The display covered battery-electric and plug-in hybrid technologies, as well as technical developments including the SPA2 and dedicated SMA architectures, an 800V high-voltage platform, a boron steel safety cage and environmentally friendly interior materials.
Collision Simulation Highlights Volvo's Safety Technologies
An interactive safety zone was another key feature of Volvo's exhibition. A low-speed collision simulator using a sliding track allowed visitors to experience the impact of a collision at a given speed. The display also traced the development of the three-point seat belt. In 1959, Volvo made the three-point seat belt standard equipment and opened its patent for free use across the automotive industry. According to the company, the invention has since saved millions of lives worldwide.
Sustainability Across the Value Chain
On sustainability, Volvo presented low-carbon aluminum, recycled materials and low-emission interior materials, as well as its "100 Green Electricity Projects" initiative in China. The company also outlined its closed-loop recycling practices for batteries, steel and aluminum, covering raw materials, manufacturing and supply chains. Volvo Cars aims to achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2040.
