Auto sales maintained rapid growth in January 07. Automobile outputs and sales reached 762,000 units and 717,000 units, an increase of 45% and 34.3% year-on-year, respectively.
Auto sales reached 553,000 units in January, an increase of 31%, of which sales of sedans reached 414,500 units, an increase of 39.05%; sales of SUV reached 23,000 units, an increase of 53.9%; sales of MPV reached 18,000 units, up 40.89%; Cross passenger cars(minivan) reached 96,700 units, only an increase of 1.11%.
Commercial vehicle sales were 165,000 units in January, an increase of 46.4%, higher than average growth. Semi tractor continues to lead the sales market, up 219% year-on-year, heavy-duty trucks showed a rapid growth because of a relatively small base. It is expected that heavy vehicles market will continue to maintain a rapid growth in 07, due to a relatively small base, cargo vehicles, tractors and chassis are expected to maintain a good growth rate.
