Gasgoo Munich- On August 6, the BMW 3 Series has officially surpassed 2 million cumulative sales in China, according to an announcement on BMW China's official WeChat account. This milestone places the 3 Series among a select few single models in the luxury market to reach such a scale.
Since the first generation launched in 1975, the BMW 3 Series has evolved through seven iterations. Upon entering the Chinese market, the model cemented its status as a benchmark in the luxury sport sedan segment, driven by its iconic design, superior handling, and strong brand influence.
Notably, the BMW 3 Series has held the top spot in China's luxury mid-size sedan segment for 21 consecutive months. To celebrate this milestone, BMW introduced new financial incentives, offering zero down payment, annual interest rates as low as 0.99%, or daily payments starting at 80 yuan, alongside a triple package of incentives for additional purchases, replacements, and trade-ins.
The 2 million sales figure serves as a microcosm of shifting consumption in China's luxury auto market. From its benchmark status in the internal combustion era to its transition into the smart electric age, the BMW 3 Series is leveraging its 2 million-strong user base to embark on a new phase of brand development.

BMW China revealed that the next-generation BMW i3 will make its full debut during this year's Chengdu Auto Show. As a key representative of BMW's new generation lineup, the new model will feature a fresh design language, a driver-centric human-machine interface, BMW intelligent driving assistance, and next-generation electric drive technology.
