Gasgoo Munich- Data compiled by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers from the General Administration of Customs reveals a distinct shift in the auto parts trade for July 2026. While both export and import volumes retreated from the previous month, their annual trajectories diverged sharply: exports climbed from a year ago, while imports slipped.

On the export front, auto parts shipments reached $9.34 billion in July 2026. That represents a 4.1% monthly decline but a 13.9% gain year-on-year. For the first seven months of the year, exports totaled $60.36 billion — an 8.5% annual increase — underscoring a broader trend of expansion.

Imports painted a different picture. The value of inbound auto parts stood at $1.45 billion in July, down 2.8% from June and 27.1% from a year earlier. Cumulative imports for January to July reached $11.25 billion, an 8.0% year-on-year drop, pointing to a sustained downward trend in foreign parts purchases throughout the year.

The monthly data underscores the gap: exports were roughly 6.4 times the value of imports. The 13.9% export growth stands in stark contrast to the 27.1% import decline. Yet, both figures slipped from June — falling 4.1% and 2.8%, respectively — signaling a pullback in overall trade volume from the previous month.
