Automobile sensors are devices that transform physical parameters in external environment such as speed, temperature and acceleration into electrical signals that serves as an input for a control system. It is a key component for motor vehicle's electronic control system.
Some of the major automobile sensor suppliers are Bosch SensoNor, Siemens VDO, Delphi, Delco, Honeywell, Freescale, Infineon, ADI and NXP.
Research shows that in 2006, the Chinese auto sensor sales revenue reached 2.984 billion yuan, an increase of 42.8% compared to year before. The Chinese auto sensor market is expected to boom between 2007 to 2010, with an average annual sales growth forecast exceeding 35%. Sales revenue in 2007, 2009 and 2010 are estimated to reach 4.067, 8 and 10 billion Yuan respectively. Their corresponding estimated growth rates are 36.3%, 40.5% and 35.2% respectively.
