Gasgoo Munich- NIO announced China Huaneng Group's marketing department and NIO Power have signed a "Virtual Power Plant Collaborative Cooperation Work Plan" in the Xiong'an New Area.

Prior to the signing, the two parties held discussions focusing on virtual power plants, power trading, and cooperation on green power and certificates. They identified strong complementarity and synergy in virtual power plants, power trading, and green power consumption. This group-level agreement provides standardized guidance for Huaneng's regional energy sales companies to implement NIO's business, aiming to boost efficiency, cut transaction costs, and further expand the scale of their collaboration.

As of September 17, NIO had constructed 9,372 charging and battery swap stations across China, comprising 4,090 swap stations and 5,282 charging stations equipped with 30,431 chargers. Cumulative battery swaps have surpassed 120 million, while total charging and swapping services have topped 200 million. This vast network of swap stations represents a high-quality, adjustable load resource, providing the foundation for participation in grid frequency regulation, peak shaving, and demand response.

As charging and swapping infrastructure continues to expand, the battery swap network is poised to unlock greater value in energy regulation within the new power system — moving beyond simply serving drivers' daily charging needs.
