China Maserati's second largest market in 2011

Gasgoo.com (Shanghai January 6) - 780 Maseratis were sold in China last year, making the country the manufacturer's second largest market, Nanfang Daily reported today. The amount sold is nearly double from 2010. China is also the Italian luxury marque's largest Asian market.

The Quattroporte series (pictured above) was the manufacturer's best selling model line in the country, accounting for 57 percent of all Maseratis sold. The GranTurismo (pictured below) and convertible GranCabrio made up the remaining 43 percent of sales.

Maserati opened new dealers in Wuhan, Wenzhou, Amoy and Tianjin last year, expanding its sales network to cover 15 cities.
