Shanghai October 28 (Gasgoo.com) China's auto exports surged 76.79% from a year earlier to 384,300 units in January-September period of 2010, of which passenger and commercial vehicle exports totaled 196,600 units and 187,700 units, up 118.69% and 47.42% year on year, respectively, Xinmin Evening News reported Thursday, citing data from the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
In September alone, Chinese automakers exported 47,900 autos, up 1.54% from the previous month. Exports of commercial vehicles rose 16.24% month on month and 54.49% year on year to 24,200 units, while passenger vehicle exports fell 10.04% on the month and grew 60.14% on the year to 23,700 units last month.
China's top 10 automakers in terms of exports in the first nine months are Chery Auto, Changan Auto, Great Wall Motor, BAIC Group, Jiangnan Auto, Brilliance Auto Group, Guanzhou Auto, Jianghuai Auto, Zhongxing Auto, which exported 67,900, 47,000, 42,300, 33,700, 27,200, 22,100, 20,900, 18,700, 16,500 and 12,800 autos, respectively.
The 10 automakers exported an aggregate of 309,100 autos in the nine months, accounting for 80.43% of the national total.
Chery Tiggo exports ranked the first in September, followed by Chery Qiyun 3, Chery Qiyun 2, Chery QQ3, Great Wall Hover H, Chery A3, Chery A1, BYD F3, Lifan 520 and Zhongxing Wuxian.
The top 10 vehicle model by January-September exports are in turn Chery Tiggo, Zoyte 5008, Great Wall H, Chery QQ 3, Chery A1, Chery Qiyun 3, Chery Qinyun2, Zoyte 2008, Lifan 520 and BYD F3.
China export scale of autos is expected to account for 10% of the total auto sales scale, and the proportion of premium auto-parts exports will be even higher, industry analysts predicted.
