Shanghai. February 18 (Gasgoo.com) – China top economic regulatory body National Development and Reform Commission has recently approved 17 car models that will be produced by Chinese wholly owned or joint venture automakers in China.
Under Chinese government's automobile industry regulations, all car models must obtain approval from NDRC before it could be produced and sold in Chinese market.
The table below shows the 17 models approved by NDRC and their manufacturers.

Of these 17 models, most are redesigned models and only a few are completely new models. And 11 models are made by China’s local automakers and 11 models are made by joint venture automakers.
Chinese automakers, including both joint venture automakers and local players, launched over 90 sedan models last year, of which 20 models are completely new models, according to China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
