Gasgoo Munich-CiXTech has entered a strategic partnership with Canonical, the publisher of the Ubuntu operating system. The two will develop a deeply optimized Ubuntu system based on the Cixin P1 chip platform. Targeting scenarios such as AI smart boxes, AI PCs, robots, NAS, and industrial edge devices, the partnership aims to provide enterprise clients with a stable, enterprise-grade system environment.

Canonical's earlier Ubuntu developer preview for the Cixin P1 platform had already garnered praise from the community. With this upgraded collaboration, the customized system can leverage Ubuntu Pro services for up to 15 years of technical support and continuous security updates, ensuring long-term stable operation. The system fully unlocks the chip's performance, natively supporting the Cixin P1's heterogeneous computing and delivering up to 45 TOPS of comprehensive AI computing power.
Sun Wenjian, founder and CEO of CiXTech, noted that this partnership fully unlocks the value of the P1 chip. Enterprise clients no longer need to trade off performance for stability, which lowers the barrier for AI adoption and helps manufacturers roll out production-ready devices. Cindy Goldberg, vice president of Cloud and Chip Partnerships at Canonical, said that combining Cixin P1's hardware capabilities with the mature Ubuntu ecosystem enables developers to efficiently build and scale various edge intelligent devices.
The optimized Ubuntu system works out of the box. OEM and ODM manufacturers no longer need to expend significant effort debugging low-level software, allowing them to focus on upper-layer application development and accelerate time-to-market. The solution also features robust security capabilities, helping companies meet compliance requirements such as the EU's Cyber Resilience Act.
The collaboration also supports Ubuntu 26.04 LTS and the Ubuntu Core system for IoT devices. Ubuntu Core offers secure isolation and remote OTA upgrades, making it ideal for scenarios like robots and remote AI boxes.
Public records indicate CiXTech was established in 2021. The company focuses on R&D for high-performance intelligent agent CPUs, aiming to create integrated end-edge-cloud AGI computing solutions.
