Gasgoo Munich- Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor plans to jointly build a commercial vehicle KD factory in Vietnam. The announcement came during the 23rd China-ASEAN Expo, which opened in Nanning on September 17. At the event, the automaker showcased its latest new energy lineup under the Chenglong and Forthing brands and signed a strategic partnership agreement with a Vietnamese partner.
On the passenger vehicle front, Forthing displayed the Xinghai V9 Camping Edition and the Xinghai V6. The V9 Camping Edition is powered by a 1.5T Mach electric hybrid system, offering 200 kilometers of CLTC pure electric range and a total range of 1,300 kilometers, with an official guide price starting at 258,800 yuan. The Xinghai V6 features Huawei's Qiankun ADS 5 SE intelligent driving system and carries a pre-sale price starting at 104,900 yuan; a right-hand-drive version of the model also debuted at the show.
For commercial vehicles, the Chenglong brand unveiled three new energy products. The Chenglong H7 hydrogen fuel tractor is equipped with a 400kW hydrogen stack and a 70MPa high-pressure storage system, achieving a total range of over 1,500 kilometers, with 2025 deliveries projected to exceed 1,800 units. The Chenglong Yiwei 5 Super Energy Edition electric tractor has reduced its curb weight to 8.8 tons, with comprehensive energy consumption at 1.1 kWh per kilometer. The Chenglong Yiwei 2 autonomous light truck packs five LiDAR sensors and an Nvidia automotive-grade chip, delivering 508 TOPS of computing power. Additionally, the booth featured the Chenglong Kunpeng flying car and the Chenglong Chitu Red Rabbit RoboVAN.

Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor is accelerating its transition from simple export trading to a deeply localized overseas model. According to its "Chengfeng Shuangqing" (Ride the Wind Dual Engine) plan, the company aims to achieve large-scale international expansion by 2030. Currently, the Chenglong brand covers eight ASEAN countries, including Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. In 2025, sales in the ASEAN market reached 11,057 units, giving the brand a 55% share of Vietnam's medium-truck segment.
Regarding network building in the ASEAN market, Dongfeng Liuzhou Motor operates 30 direct sales and service stores in Vietnam. In Thailand, the company plans to establish at least 100 new sales and service outlets with partners over the next three years, alongside a co-built smart manufacturing factory to advance localized production and supply chain synergy.
