Shanghai. September 20 (Gasgoo.com) Dongfong Motor Corporation started construction of its self-developed passenger vehicle plant in Economic and Technology Zone of Wuhan yesterday, state media Xinhua News Agency reported today.
Dongfeng Motors spent 10 bln yuan (USD 1.33 bln) in the 247-acre passenger vehicle plant, which is made up of a research center and a manufacturing plant.
Dongfeng Motor Plans to produce B,C,D classes of passenger vehicle market and the first batch vehicles will roll off assembly line in early 2009, the company announced on its website.
The facility is designed to put out 160,000 vehicles after the first phase of contruction, Xinhua News Agency said.
