GAC Cambodia KD Plant Begins Production, Marking a Shift Toward Local Manufacturing
GAC officially began production at its KD plant in Kampong Chhnang Province, Cambodia, on September 17, marking its transition from vehicle exports to local assembly and manufacturing in the country.
The project was launched in 2024. Under the partnership, THG is responsible for plant investment, construction, and vehicle assembly, while GAC provides vehicle kits, technical standards, and full-chain technical support.
The plant is planned to have an annual capacity of 10,000 vehicles and will assemble models including the Empow, Emkoo, GS8, and GN8.
GAC has also been expanding its offline sales network in Cambodia, with plans in 2026 to achieve coverage across key cities including Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Battambang.
The GAC Trumpchi brand has recorded rapid growth in Cambodia since 2024, with a three-year compound annual growth rate of more than 300%. It ranked No. 1 among Chinese automotive brands in the Cambodian market in 2025.
Local production is expected to optimize product costs, create jobs, and contribute automotive manufacturing and management experience to Cambodia.
Zelos Obtains Belgium's Y Test Plate for RoboVan
Zelos has obtained an official Y Test Plate in Belgium in September, becoming the first and only RoboVan company in Europe to receive the testing plate, according to the source.
The certification allows Zelos's RoboVan to further enter Belgium's local vehicle testing framework and creates conditions for subsequent road testing and environmental validation.
Since launching its European strategy in 2025, Zelos has expanded its activities across Austria, the Netherlands, and France, covering technology validation, industry engagement, and commercial pilots.
In Austria, its Z5 RoboVan entered the DigiTrans autonomous driving test center in April 2025 for five-stage technical validation.
In the Netherlands, Zelos partnered with mobility company PuraMobi in September 2026 to introduce RoboVan into the country for commercial pilot applications.
The company has also showcased its technology at Intertraffic Amsterdam and VivaTech 2026 in the Netherlands and France.
Globally, Zelos says more than 30,000 autonomous vehicles are already in operation, with cumulative autonomous driving mileage exceeding 270 million kilometers, covering more than 20 countries and 300 cities.
BYD's Denza Z9GT Launches in Thailand, Expanding Its APAC Lineup
Denza officially launched the Z9GT in Bangkok, Thailand, on September 16, 2026, further expanding its presence in the Asia-Pacific market.
