Shanghai, April 23 (Gasgoo.com) At the 2008 Beijing Auto Show, Guangzhou Honda Automobile Co unveiled the first concept model of its own brand, Li Nian that will start production by 2010.
"We already decided to build the Li Nian brand model starting 2010 with its spinoff series following up," said Fu Shoujie, executive vice president of Guangzhou Honda at the company's press conference.

The five-door hatchback is reportedly intended to show the styling direction for the new Li Nian range. The joint venture released no technical specifications of the model except that it will be powered by a 1.8-liter engine.
The Li Nian concept was designed entirely by Guangzhou Honda Automobile Research & Development, and Guangzhou Honda will take the initiative and sell the new brand vehicles through their existing dealership network.
Guangzhou Automobile Co, the Chinese partner of Honda, also showed three self-developped concepts invloving a 4-Door Coupé, a convertible concept and a AHEV hybrid concept at the show.
