Gasgoo Munich-Zhengzhou Chujie Automotive R&D Co., Ltd. was recently registered with Qin Ming as its legal representative, according to Tianyancha. The joint venture is jointly funded by Haima Automobile Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Haima Automobile, and CORNEX New Energy Co., Ltd.
Corporate records show that Zhengzhou Chujie Automotive R&D Co., Ltd. covers a range of business activities, including R&D of auto parts and mechanical equipment, wholesale and retail of auto parts, and sales of complete new energy vehicles. The company is registered at Haima's Zhengzhou base in the Zhengzhou Economic and Technological Development Zone, with registered capital of RMB 1 million. Haima Automobile Co., Ltd., a wholly owned subsidiary of Haima Automobile, holds a 51% stake, while CORNEX New Energy Co., Ltd. holds the remaining 49%.

The ownership structure gives Haima controlling interest in the R&D venture. Qin Ming, the legal representative, also holds a core management position at Haima. Operationally, the new company focuses on component R&D, parts trading, and new energy vehicle sales — notably, its scope excludes vehicle manufacturing.
The joint venture marks a key step in the partnership between CORNEX and Haima. CORNEX brings a power battery foundation and is advancing its passenger vehicle project; Haima offers mature vehicle platforms, production licenses, and a local manufacturing hub in Zhengzhou. By establishing an R&D entity, the two aim to coordinate on vehicle technology, component development, and market entry — potentially revitalizing Haima' s existing capacity while accelerating CORNEX' s project.
Still, setting up an R&D firm does not guarantee a mass-production rollout. The partners must still push forward on co-developing models, building supply chains, and scaling manufacturing. As competition in the NEV sector intensifies, cross-sector alliances and joint R&D between legacy automakers and EV startups are becoming an increasingly common path to market.
