Gasgoo.com (Shanghai April 20) - Zxauto, a Hebei-based pickup truck and SUV manufacturer, announced that it will officially begin manufacturing vehicles for the military, the Beijing Times reported today. The manufacturer's first military-use vehicle, the Fangzhou small SUV, will be making its debut at the upcoming Beijing International Automobile Exhibition.
According to Zxauto President Xiao Wei, in order to prepare for its entrance into the military sphere, the manufacturer has invested over three billion yuan ($474.28m) to construct a third production site in Yichang, Hubei. The factory is expected to have a production capability of 200,000 vehicles, and will build vehicles based on Zxauto's C platform.
