Nov. 14 (Bloomberg) -- Honda Motor Co., Japan's second- largest carmaker, may expand the production capacity of a Chinese factory that exports the Jazz compact to Europe, the Wall Street Journal reported.
The company is considering the expansion as it seeks to ship the Jazz, known as the Fit in the U.S. and Japan, to markets outside Europe, the newspaper said, citing Masaya Nagai, head of the plant in Guangzhou in southern China.
Honda Automobile (China) Co. Ltd., a venture with Dongfeng Motor Corp., is expected to export 46,000 Jazz cars to 21 European countries in 2008, up from 43,000 last year, Nagai told reporters in Guangzhou yesterday.
