Shanghai, June 18 (Gasgoo.com) Major Chinese bus-maker Xiamen King Long's self-developed luxury triaxial buses codenamed XMQ6130Y rolled off the production line earlier this month and are now being shipped to Italy, Xiamen media reported.

These brand-new King Long buses were especially designed and produced for the high-end European tourism market. This type of bus sells for nearly 2 million yuan ($293,000), and Xiamen King Long has received orders from Italy for 12 triaxial buses, including an order from Roma team of the Italian Seria A.

The King Long buses exported to Europe have been 12-meter-long buses XMQ6127, new suburban buses XMQ6120C, and 9-meter-long minibus XMQ6900, said Tang Wanxin, an overseas sales manager of King Long. Now the luxury XMQ6130Y model will improve the Chinese bus-maker's product lineup for the European market.

King Long passed the EU's VCA certification in 2005 and became the first Chinese bus-maker to enter the European market, and King Long is becoming an emerging player in the Europe's bus market, Mr. Tang added.

In the European market, sales of King Long buses have grown in recent years. In 2009, King Long exported 131 buses to Europe, with total sales revenue nearing 100 million yuan.
