Korean steel giant POSCO announced Tuesday that it plans to build a plant for automobile steel sheet in China.
It aims to start construction by the second quarter of next year and begin producing zinc-coated steel sheet from 2013. The continuous galvanizing line (CGL) plant will have an annual production capacity of 450,000 tons.
POSCO said the plant will help increase its sales of steel sheets in China, where auto production is growing at a rapid pace.
