China's top ten automakers by auto sales reached a sales volume of 6.0457 million during the first nine months of 2008, accounting for 83.63% of the total, the China Association of Automobile Manufactures (CAAM) announced in a data report on October 22.
They were Shanghai Automotive Industry Corporation (Group) (SAIC), China FAW Group Corp., Dongfeng Motor Corp., Chang'an Automobile Group Co., Ltd., Beijing Automotive Industry Corp. (BAIC), Guangzhou Automobile Industry Group Co., Ltd. (GAIG), Chery Automobile Co., Ltd., Brilliance China Automotive Holdings Ltd. (NYSE: CBA and SEHK: 1114), Hafei Motor Co., Ltd., and Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. (JAC and SHSE: 600418).
Over the first eight months of 2008, China's top ten automakers by auto sales sold 5.4260 million vehicles, making up 84% of the total. They were SAIC, FAW Group, Dongfeng, Chang'an Automobile, Beijing Automotive, Guangzhou Automobile, Chery Automobile, Brilliance, Hafei Motor, and JAC.
