AI Server Power Supplies Become a New Strategic Growth Area
Following the financing, UNT's shareholder base spans several sectors, including communications, computing infrastructure, power grids, new energy and automotive. The participation of multiple strategic investors from the AI infrastructure sector in this round signals the company's intention to make AI server power supplies a major growth area alongside its automotive silicon carbide (SiC) business.
SiC Products Cover 650V to 3,300V Applications
UNT specializes in compound semiconductor devices and module packaging, including silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) products. Leveraging the large-scale wafer manufacturing platform of its major shareholder, United Nova Technology, the company has achieved mass production of 8-inch SiC wafers, providing advantages in manufacturing costs and cost competitiveness.
Its current SiC product portfolio covers voltage ratings from 650V to 3,300V, while products rated at 6.5kV and above remain under development. In June 2026, the company submitted its customized 3,300V SiC MOSFET, designed for high-voltage applications such as solid-state transformers, to key customers for sample testing and validation. The integrated solution using the device can reduce system-level bill of materials (BOM) costs by 20% to 35%.
SiC Business Ranks Among the Global Top Five
According to Yole's 2025 report, UNT ranked first in China and among the global top five in the SiC market, with an estimated global market share of approximately 5%. Its SiC power module business is expected to rank fourth globally in 2026.
In the automotive sector, the company secured nearly 60 new design wins in the first half of 2026, with the full-year total expected to reach approximately 140. Beyond automotive applications, its SiC devices are also used across a broad range of power ratings and applications in the photovoltaic and energy storage sectors.
