Gasgoo Munich- Great Wall Motor's WEY CEO Zhao Yongpo issued a notice on Aug. 5 regarding the Lanshan lineup, explicitly addressing recent market rumors that production had been halted.
In the notice, Zhao acknowledged that the company had received reports of a production halt following the debut of new WEY models. He offered a formal rebuttal: the Lanshan remains a cornerstone of the brand's SUV strategy, having been chosen by over 100,000 users. The model is not discontinued, nor are there any plans to do so.
The notice also outlined the roadmap ahead. Zhao noted that the Lanshan is currently selling well overseas, while domestic updates and iterations are underway. A brand-new product is slated for the fourth quarter of 2026, promising an innovative breakthrough in the SUV segment.

The Lanshan serves as WEY's flagship large six-seater SUV in the 300,000-yuan premium new-energy segment. The latest iteration, the WEY New Lanshan Intelligent Advanced Edition, officially launched on Dec. 22, 2025. It is Great Wall Motor's first six-seater plug-in hybrid SUV equipped with a VLA large model, featuring standard all-wheel drive across three configurations.
The vehicle measures 5,156mm long, 1,980mm wide, and 1,805mm high, with a wheelbase of 3,050mm. It features the CP Master driver-assistance system, powered by a Thor-U chip (700 TOPS) and 27 smart sensors.
Notably, earlier reports claimed the 2026 Lanshan Intelligent Advanced Edition ceased sales in June 2026—just six months after hitting the market. At the same time, sales of the Lanshan have been in a persistent decline.
Against this backdrop, rumors of a production halt spread, prompting concern among some owners and prospective buyers about the model's future.
Zhao's public response aims to quell market doubts and reaffirm the Lanshan's status as a strategic pillar for WEY. Moreover, the planned launch of a new model in the fourth quarter of 2026 signals the brand's commitment to continued investment and upgrades for the Lanshan lineup.
