Xiaomi EV Set to Enter European Market

Edited by Betty From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- On September 3, Xiaomi EV confirmed plans to enter the European market—including Germany—by 2027. That same day, at the IFA 2026 trade show, the automaker signed memorandums of understanding with eight leading German dealership groups.

These dealerships bring decades of integrated experience across Germany and the broader European automotive sector, with deep expertise in managing high-end brands. Some trace their history back more than a century.

Since launching its first EV in early 2024, Xiaomi EV has seen rapid growth in China, with cumulative deliveries topping 700,000 units. Building on that momentum, the company plans to bring its vehicles and smart mobility experience to Europe in 2027. The signing ceremony at IFA marks the first step in establishing a retail and service network for the region. As the 2027 launch nears, Xiaomi EV expects to expand its partner network across Europe.

"Xiaomi EV is committed to long-term investment in Europe," said Yu Liguo, vice president and head of international business. "Localized partnerships are central to this commitment, supported by our European R&D center in Munich and a growing network of sales and service partners."

Xiaomi Group President Lu Weibing shared the news on Weibo. According to Lu, Xiaomi conducted extensive market research in Germany last year, holding face-to-face meetings with numerous dealers. During the Beijing Auto Show this year, those dealers visited Xiaomi EV’s factory in Beijing. On the product validation front, the models slated for export will head to Sweden, Germany, Spain, and Italy. There, they will undergo high-speed validation and functional testing at seven authoritative facilities, including the Arjeplog winter test grounds and the Nürburgring.

In late August, Xiaomi EV launched its global website and official international social media channels. The move signals that the company is engaging with global users well before its official European entry in 2027.
