According to the Suzhou Daily, ZEnergy plans to invest 10 billion yuan to build a smart, flexible manufacturing base in the Changshu High-tech Zone with an annual capacity of 50GWh. The facility will produce new-generation, high-capacity lithium-ion batteries designed for long-duration energy storage. As a company specializing in the R&D and manufacturing of lithium-ion power, storage, and aviation batteries, this move represents a significant doubling down on its storage capacity and technology layout.
Suzhou is currently capitalizing on the Yangtze River Delta's push to become a science and technology innovation hub, aiming to foster "new quality productive forces" and establish itself as a "City of Intelligent Manufacturing" by creating a national demonstration zone for new industrialization. Through its "Three Services" initiative, the city plans to leverage a top-tier business environment to ensure the project lands and enters production swiftly. Local authorities also expect ZEnergy to expand its footprint further, attracting high-quality enterprises and elevating the city's new energy industry.
Cao Fang, chairman of Jiangsu ZEnergy Battery Technology Co., Ltd., noted that the company has thrived in Suzhou thanks to the city's robust business climate. By continuously increasing investment and expanding production, Zhengli and the city have achieved mutual growth. Expressing strong confidence in Suzhou's future, Cao said the company is committed to deepening its roots there and focusing on its core business. Zhengli plans to seize opportunities in artificial intelligence, accelerate capacity expansion and technological upgrades, and actively explore global markets — all aimed at supporting the high-quality development of Suzhou's new energy sector.
