Shanghai January 5 (Gasgoo.com) Volkswagen's China venture FAW-VW will put the 2011 Volkswagen Passat CC into production in the first half of this year, bitauto.com reported Wednesday.

The automaker has not yet decided when to put the new Passat CC on the market. While sources said the 1.8L TSI model is expected be available to the Chinese consumers, along with the long-expected five-seat model.
The 2011 Passat CC will likely remain the same size: 4799 mm long, 1855 mm wide and 1417 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2712 mm.
Likewise, the 2.0TSI engine and 6-speed dual-clutch gearbox (DSG) used in the current model will appear on the 2011 model. However, the 1.8TSI engine and 6-speed DSG will not be used, a combination of the 1.8TSI engine and 6-speed DSG, employed by the Magotan CC, will be adopted instead.
In order to lower the price threshold of the new 1.8L TSI model, FAW-VW will have to make a choice among the ACC (adaptive chassis control), "4motion" four-wheel drive system, automatic parking system, bi-xenon headlights, electronic parking system, auxiliary lighting system, ESP (electronic stability program), six airbags and other safety configurations, used in the existing 2.0TSI model.
