Visually, the 2026 iX1 sees few major changes. It retains BMW’s signature large closed-off kidney grille, accented with diamond-pattern elements and surrounded by chrome trim.
The side profile features smooth lines, semi-retractable door handles, and a selection of wheel designs.
At the rear, L-shaped taillights echo the trim on the bumper, boosting visual recognition.
BMW continues to offer the X Line and M Sport packages, alongside color options like Skyscraper Grey and Starry Blue. The five-seat compact SUV measures 4,616 mm long, 1,845 mm wide, and 1,641 mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,802 mm.
Inside, buyers get various color schemes and a dual-screen setup combining a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.7-inch central display, running the BMW iDrive 9 system.
Equipment updates are the highlight of this refresh, with 5G connectivity now standard across the lineup to improve in-car connectivity. On the driver-assist front, standard features include front and rear parking sensors, a reversing camera, lane-keeping assist, lane-change assist, and Reversing Assistant.
Two powertrain options are available. The eDrive25L features a front-mounted single motor producing 204 horsepower (150 kW) and 250 newton-meters of torque, offering a CLTC range of 510 km.
The xDrive30L employs a dual-motor all-wheel-drive setup, delivering a combined 313 horsepower (230 kW) and 494 newton-meters. Its CLTC range is 450 km. Both variants are equipped with a 66.5 kWh ternary lithium battery pack.
The iX1 serves as the electric counterpart to the BMW X1. In the fiercely competitive market for luxury electric compact SUVs, its key rivals include the Audi Q4 e-tron and Mercedes-Benz EQA.
