Gasgoo Munich-Great Wall Motor officially launched the 2027 Tank 500 on October 23, introducing four models priced between 335,000 and 375,000 yuan. The Hi4-T version starts at 335,000 yuan, while the Hi4-T Premium and the 3.0T version both come in at 355,000 yuan. The Hi4-Z Premium tops the range at 375,000 yuan.

This update centers on intelligence, comfort, and safety configurations. The automaker claims the new model has undergone 296 optimizations across hardware, software, and safety redundancy, while retaining the existing design and powertrain layout.

Visually, the new model introduces a "Danxia Red" exterior finish and a black-and-gray interior option. The cabin features a 15.6-inch dual screen, a 22-speaker audio system, and NAPPA leather seats. New additions include electric front leg rests, rear folding tables, and a "bed mode," all aimed at boosting comfort for family trips.

Intelligence is the cornerstone of this upgrade. The vehicle is equipped with the Coffee Pilot 4 driver-assistance system, powered by a VLA large model and the Thor-U chip. It boasts 27 sensors, including LiDAR and 4D millimeter-wave radar, enabling natural language interaction and driving decisions in complex road scenarios.

To handle off-road conditions, Great Wall Motor built a dataset based on more than 40,000 real-world off-road scenarios, aiming to extend the driver-assistance system's capability on unpaved surfaces.

On the safety front, the new Tank 500 comes with far-infrared night vision, intelligent blowout control, and an IBC 2.0 dual-chip redundant braking system. These features further enhance active safety and vehicle control in extreme driving conditions.
Powertrain options remain diverse, with the new model continuing to offer three architectures: a 3.0T V6 internal combustion engine, Hi4-T, and Hi4-Z. This lineup balances traditional off-roading demands with new energy requirements.
Great Wall Motor is offering purchase incentives, including a 3,000 yuan deposit that deducts 9,000 yuan from the final payment and trade-in subsidies of up to 20,000 yuan. While driver-assistance services come with lifetime free access, the scope of available features varies by model.
For the Tank 500, this refresh doesn't shift its market positioning. Instead, it doubles down on intelligence and comfort features to attract a broader group of consumers seeking a balance between city commuting, family outings, and off-road adventures.
