The EX60 will be offered in three powertrain variants: P6, P10, and P12. The entry-level P6 is a rear-wheel-drive model featuring an 80 kWh usable battery pack; its rear motor generates 369 hp and 354 lb-ft of torque, delivering a maximum range of roughly 310 miles with the smallest 20-inch wheels. The mid-tier P10 adds all-wheel drive and a 91 kWh battery, producing a combined 503 hp and 524 lb-ft, with range topping out at 320 miles. At the top of the range, the P12 employs a larger 112 kWh battery to achieve up to 400 miles of range, while its dual-motor setup churns out 670 hp and 583 lb-ft — enough to propel the SUV from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds.

Volvo confirmed that production will kick off this spring, with U.S. pre-orders opening in late spring. Initial deliveries will feature the P6 and P10 trims, while the P12 will arrive "later." Unlike the simplified dashboard found in the EX30, the EX60 comes standard with a driver's display. However, it adopts small, fin-like door handles mounted at the base of the window glass — a design cue reminiscent of the Ford Mustang Mach-E.
On the technology front, the EX60 is powered by Volvo's next-generation HuginCore processor, integrating solutions from Google, Nvidia, and Qualcomm. Equipped with the Google Gemini AI system, the SUV promises a responsive infotainment experience with a user interface streamlined for quick access to core functions. The model also debuts Volvo's newly patented multi-adaptive seatbelts, designed to enhance protection for front-seat occupants of varying sizes. Additional features include a NACS standard charging port and a Bowers & Wilkins audio system comprising 28 speakers.
Volvo also announced that the 2028 EX60 Cross Country variant will arrive in the U.S. next summer. Available exclusively with P10 and P12 powertrains, the P10 model is expected to deliver a range of 300 miles, while figures for the P12 remain undisclosed. The Cross Country trim features exclusive Frost Green paint, unique wheel designs, and stainless steel skid plates to protect underbody components. Its air suspension raises ground clearance from 7 inches to 7.6 inches — a 0.6-inch increase over the standard model.
