Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On Jan. 13, AgiBot opened its first overseas robot experience center to the public at i-City in Shah Alam, Selangor, Malaysia. The venue is not only Malaysia's first AI robot experience hub, but also marks a concrete step in AgiBot's global strategy with the Asia-Pacific region as a key anchor.
An earlier Omdia report shows AgiBot led the global humanoid robot market with full-year shipments of just over 5,100 units. The new opening further cements its first-mover edge overseas as a leading brand.
The move aligns closely with Malaysia's "National Industry 4.0" policy. Jiang Qingsong, a partner and senior vice president at AgiBot, said the choice of Malaysia reflects a push to engage deeply in the region's digital transformation and embed humanoid robotics into the local industrial ecosystem. i-City, for its part, is evolving from a traditional theme park into an "AI + culture and tourism" complex. Its director, Datuk You Fangzhou, noted that partnering with AgiBot is a key step toward building a benchmark for smart commerce in Malaysia and creating scenarios where humans and machines coexist.

The center spans about 2,000 square meters, highlighting how AI and humanoid robots could be applied across residential, commercial and health settings. Inside, Yuanzheng A2 serves as a multilingual greeter and guide; the Kutuo D1 series showcases high-dynamic capabilities such as parkour and ring battles; while Lingxi X2 blends interactive performances like boxing and soccer with educational features, drawing families to participate. Immersive programs such as robot archery demonstrate low-latency, high-precision control.
AgiBot is expanding across Asia-Pacific with a dual engine of "technology ecosystem + business ecosystem." It has set up local teams in 10 markets including Singapore, Thailand and Australia, and built a five-pronged partnership framework centered on joint ventures, distribution, experience centers, a leasing alliance and e-commerce platforms.
At the event, AgiBot also launched its first overseas robot leasing alliance and awarded plaques to multiple Asia-Pacific partners — aiming to lower adoption barriers and drive scaled deployment in education, research, manufacturing and services.
With the first overseas experience center now in operation, AgiBot is showcasing end-to-end capabilities from products to systems, while creating a template that connects technology, ecosystems and diverse use cases. The initiative could offer a replicable operating playbook for its global push and help Malaysia — and the wider Asia-Pacific — build a more vibrant embodied-intelligence industry ecosystem.
