Agile Robots and NVIDIA Unveil Agile ONE SN Humanoid Robot for Research

Edited by Aya From Gasgoo

Gasgoo Munich- Agile Robots and NVIDIA have jointly unveiled the Agile ONE SN, a humanoid robot designed for research, at the NVIDIA GTC conference in Berlin. Built on the NVIDIA Isaac GR00T development platform, the unit comes pre-configured with a complete software stack, aiming to provide developers and researchers with a full-stack platform for humanoid robotics R&D.

In terms of hardware, the Agile ONE SN stands 1.4 meters tall and weighs 43 kilograms, with 31 degrees of freedom. It features an onboard NVIDIA Jetson Thor computing platform for real-time sensor processing and robot reasoning. The device is equipped with a multi-view sensor system—including a head-mounted RGB-D camera, wrist cameras, 3D LiDAR, and an inertial measurement unit. Joint torque reaches up to 140 newton-meters, with a maximum single-arm payload of 3 kilograms, while supporting Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth connectivity.

On the software side, the Agile ONE SN ships with the Isaac GR00T system, which includes the GR00T 1.7 open-source vision-language-action model, whole-body control, and an end-to-end reference workflow. This workflow spans demonstration data collection, data generation, simulation, training, evaluation, deployment, and real-world testing. The platform also provides URDF and USD assets, supporting direct import into Isaac Sim and Isaac Lab for simulation and learning research—slashing setup time from weeks to days.

Regarding safety and future planning, Agile Robots is exploring integration with the NVIDIA Halos safety platform to advance technical work in design, verification, and software. The Agile ONE S and SN series is scheduled for an early 2027 launch, at which point it will complement the full-size, industrial-focused Agile ONE.

The research platform has already attracted interest from institutions such as Stanford University and ETH Zurich. During the GTC conference, NVIDIA also announced an expansion of its Isaac open robotics development platform, introducing new robot learning tools, datasets, and workflows.
