Gasgoo Munich- AION is launching a standalone vehicle series, said Zhang Xiong, president of the HYPTEC-AION BU, at a recent user festival. The debut model, a mid-to-large pure electric sedan with AION's new glowing logo, will debut on July 28. It aims to serve as a benchmark EV for younger drivers.
The sedan fills a gap in AION's lineup, which previously lacked a mid-to-large sedan. It is the first mass-produced vehicle to feature the automaker's refreshed branding.
The redesigned logo moves away from the brand's previous rigid aesthetic to minimalist, soft lines. Its illuminated design, paired with double-layer LED light strips, ensures visibility at night.
Teaser images show a fastback silhouette with a ducktail spoiler. It features five-spoke alloy wheels with yellow DriveQ brake calipers, shared with the premium HYPTEC brand. An exclusive warm yellow paint finish highlights the sporty design, diverging from AION's traditional family-oriented style.

Zhang Xiong targeted younger demographics at the event, aiming to lower prices in this segment. Competitors include the Xiaomi SU7 and the Shangjie Z7/Z7T. AION aims to capture the youth market with this new series and logo, distinct from its existing family-oriented customer base.
Based on AION's existing EV platform, the model is expected to offer competitive range, driver-assistance features, and chassis dynamics. Power figures, range, and pricing details were not disclosed.
