Gasgoo Munich- On August 5, the Wuhan Economic and Technological Development Zone (WEDZ) officially signed an agreement with Wuhan Youfin Auto Parts Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of West Shanghai. The deal marks the establishment of a new R&D and manufacturing base for Wuhan Youfin in the zone — representing another round of investment from West Shanghai.

With a total investment of approximately 156 million yuan, the facility will focus on wire-controlled braking products, including hydraulic electronic parking brakes (EPB). The project scope includes adding automated process equipment, constructing an R&D testing center, and building supporting facilities. Production is slated to begin in 2027, with full design capacity targeted for 2030. Once operational, the base is expected to significantly boost the company's R&D capabilities, smart manufacturing standards, and supply chain synergy — while strengthening the zone's supply capacity for smart chassis actuation components.
Wuhan Youfin was originally registered in the development zone back in 1998 and was acquired by West Shanghai in 2024. Specializing in pneumatic and hydraulic disc brakes, the company currently ranks among the top three in domestic market share for commercial vehicles. Its parent, West Shanghai Automotive Service Co., Ltd., is a listed enterprise focused on integrated automotive logistics services and the R&D and manufacturing of auto parts.
During the signing ceremony, WEDZ officials highlighted their ongoing efforts to build a "135" modern industrial system and a more competitive automotive cluster. Noting the strong alignment between the two parties' industrial directions, the zone expressed hopes to deepen cooperation following this agreement. In response, West Shanghai stated that the new base would serve as an integrated hub for R&D and production, helping Wuhan Youfin expand capacity and functions while contributing to the zone's growth. For its part, WEDZ pledged to continue optimizing the business environment, ensuring resource allocation, and accelerating the project's implementation.
