Gasgoo Munich-Aptiv posted its third-quarter 2026 results on Nov. 4. Revenue climbed 2% to $3.2 billion — a record for the period — while net income from continuing operations reached $194 million and adjusted EBITDA totaled $567 million.
Yet behind the top-line milestone, Aptiv’s core automotive segment is feeling the squeeze.
On an early-morning earnings call, the company revealed that third-quarter automotive revenue slipped 1% from a year earlier, while non-automotive revenue surged 11%.

Breaking it down by division, the Smart Systems unit posted $1.402 billion in revenue, down 3% year on year, as automotive-related sales fell 4% and software-and-services revenue dropped 11%. The Engineered Components segment, meanwhile, generated $1.835 billion — a 7% gain — driven by a 2% uptick in automotive revenue.
Regional performance was mixed. North American revenue advanced 5%, while Europe contracted 5% — dragged down by softening demand from two German luxury automakers. In China, revenue edged up 1%, with the Smart Systems unit posting growth for a second straight quarter.
Notably, Aptiv told analysts on the call that it recently secured a new advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) order, replacing a rival’s existing vision, parking, and surround-view systems with an integrated platform. The revenue impact is expected to become more pronounced in 2028.
For the first nine months of the year, Aptiv’s cumulative revenue reached $9.5 billion, up 2% from a year earlier. With automotive growth under pressure, the company is pushing deeper into non-automotive markets like data centers and robotics to unlock new revenue streams.
