German carmaker Audi AG says global February sales increased 20 percent on the year to 75,900 cars, with China and the U.S. showing strong increases.
The company reported Monday a 62 percent increase in sales in China to more than 15,000 cars. In the U.S., the Ingolstadt company says it saw a 34 percent rise to over 6,000 cars. Western Europe saw a 6 percent increase to 43,000 cars.
Audi, a unit of Europe's largest carmaker Volkswagen AG, says sales rose nearly 30 percent for the first two months of the year.
Audi sales and marketing chief Peter Schwarzenbauer says the company is on course for a "strong first quarter."
