Herald Sun - Renegade unionists have made chilling threats to Toyota workers who refuse to strike or reject overtime, warning "we know where you live".
A letter to the workers, which is not endorsed by the Australian Manufacturing Workers' Union, claims those who don't tow the line in action for a pay rise will be classed as a "F---ing scab''.
"You are the lowest of the low,'' it says.
"We know who you are we know what car you drive. We know where you live payback is a b--ch 3 fold (sic).
"Scabs do not go against the majority.''
A caller to 3AW Radio revealed the contents of the letter this morning.
It was not known how many workers may have received the letter.
AMWU acting national secretary (vehicle division) David Smith said the union was not responsible for the letter.
"No way, not in any shape,'' Mr Smith said.
"I am as much in the dark about it as anybody else.
"We do not support anyone putting anything like that into the workplace.''
If caught those responsible would be on the receiving end of some "serious discussions'', he said.
Toyota's Melbourne and Sydney production plants have ground to a halt as more than 3000 employees strike over a pay dispute.
Toyota Australia spokeswoman Laura Hill said there was no production at the company's Altona manufacturing plant, in Melbourne, with just 400 of the normal 3300 staff arriving for work today.
The strike has also affected the Altona and Sydney parts distribution centres.
Ms Hill said it was estimated it would cost Toyota about $10 million in lost sales and adversely impact the company's reputation.
It would also affect the company's suppliers, he said.
Further strike action is planned for tomorrow, plus next Thursday and Friday.
The industrial action was due to begin last week, but Fair Work Australia granted Toyota an interim suspension banning the strike.
