Gasgoo Munich-BAIC Group and Tsinghua Unigroup held a strategic cooperation signing ceremony on May 18. The two sides will deepen collaboration across five key areas: automotive-grade chips, smart cockpits, autonomous driving, industrial investment, and vehicle-cloud ecosystems. Three specialized agreements were signed simultaneously, marking a powerful union between vehicle manufacturing and semiconductor technology to jointly drive self-reliance and coordinated upgrades in the smart vehicle supply chain.

Under the agreement, BAIC Group will leverage its "chain master" advantages in vehicle R&D, manufacturing, and scenario applications, while Tsinghua Unigroup will deploy its core capabilities in chip design, computing power, information security, and digital infrastructure. Together, they plan to build a comprehensive system covering technical breakthroughs, supply chain security, industrial investment, ecosystem development, and procurement services. The partnership prioritizes the joint development of critical systems—such as smart cockpits, autonomous driving, and vehicle control—and aims to accelerate the mass application of domestic chips in BAIC models, effectively bolstering supply chain security and stability.
At the ceremony, BAIC Research General Institute, UNISOC, and Unisplendour Smart Travel signed a cooperation agreement for a smart cockpit all-in-one project, joining forces to create products featuring high computing power, reliability, and security. Meanwhile, BAIC Industrial Investment and Unisplendour OT signed an investment framework agreement to strategically position themselves around the "vehicle-chip synergy" industrial cluster, supporting Beijing's bid to build a world-class innovation hub for smart vehicles and semiconductors.
This strategic partnership is not only a key move for BAIC Group to strengthen supply chain coordination and accelerate technological self-reliance, but also an engine for high-quality growth. As a model of cross-sector integration, the collaboration provides a viable industry blueprint for establishing a secure and reliable automotive chip supply chain.
