Gasgoo Munich- Baolong Automotive recently secured a project designation for a robot rotary joint encoder. The designated product is a co-located dual-encoder, single-turn absolute inductive encoder. It employs non-contact electromagnetic coupling to achieve synchronous, high-precision detection at both the motor and output ends.

The encoder boasts three core features: interference resistance, high-temperature tolerance, and high precision. It is naturally immune to stray magnetic fields and operates stably across a wide temperature range from -40°C to 125°C. On precision, a multi-pole design achieves a maximum resolution of 19-bit.
In the field of embodied intelligence perception, Baolong Automotive leverages a foundation of hundreds of millions of automotive-grade sensors. Through inductive technology innovation, it has boosted robot joint repeatability to ±10 arcsec and slashed dynamic response times to under 1ms. Addressing challenges like strong magnetic interference, tight spaces, and the need for full closed-loop precision in humanoid robot joints, the solution offers a mass-producible, automotive-grade option.
The encoder also offers 100% magnetic immunity, full environmental robustness, ultra-thin integration, and high reliability. With IP67-rated physical protection, signal attenuation remains below 0.5% in environments with oil, dust, or vibration. Its thickness is just one-third that of traditional solutions, reducing axial space and enabling integration into high-power-density joints. Key components are automotive-grade, ensuring consistency in mass production.
