Beijing Benz announced on January 15 that its cumulative vehicle production has surpassed 6 million units, marked by a long-wheelbase GLC SUV rolling off the assembly line. This latest achievement follows another major milestone reached in 2025, when cumulative engine output topped 6 million units.

Since the first E-Class rolled off the line in 2005, Beijing Benz has introduced 14 "Made in China" models. Its portfolio now spans eight internal combustion engine models and six electric vehicles, covering body styles from sedans to SUVs. Bolstered by its shareholders, the company has established a comprehensive manufacturing system encompassing rear-wheel-drive, front-wheel-drive, and electric platforms, along with engines and batteries. With flexible production capabilities across multiple models, Beijing Benz has cemented its status as a critical hub in Mercedes-Benz’s global production network.
On the product front, the company confirmed that several high-profile models will enter production this year, headlined by the new all-electric long-wheelbase GLC SUV.
In fact, the all-electric long-wheelbase GLC surfaced earlier this month in the latest batch of filings from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology. According to the declaration, the new model measures 4,949 (4,933) mm in length, 1,970 (1,914) mm in width, and 1,710 (1,690) mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,027 mm. Classified as a mid-to-large SUV, its design closely mirrors the overseas version, featuring a massive shield-shaped grille with a large central Mercedes-Benz three-pointed star and matching headlight elements. It retains traditional door handles, while the side profile remains similar to the current internal combustion GLC.
The new model adopts the overseas design language, anchored by a colossal shield grille and a prominent three-pointed star that give the front end a commanding presence. Under the hood, it features dual motors produced by Bosch and Mercedes-Benz, delivering maximum power outputs of 163 kW and 300 kW respectively.
