(Gasgoo Shanghai Feb 26th ) — Beijing's government launched yesterday the traffic development planning of the city during the implementation of the 13th Five-Year Plan.

Based on the planning, there will be a Ring 3.5 built between Ring 3 and Ring 4 of the city. In this way, expressway network need to be established, and additional 28 km expressway should be increased in the following five years. Thus, the traffic burden in Ring 3 and Ring 4 will be reduced a lot in the future.

Within five years, a subway line designated for CBD will be constructed, reducing departure interval to less than three minutes. Different from other existing subway lines, the new one will be built underground and the distance between two stations will be shorter, according to the government.

The existing transportation hubs built in the central part of the city will be gradually moved to several suburbs. And four transportation hubs for long-distance passenger vehicles will be built in the suburbs.

16 parking facilities will be built in the east and west districts, increasing 9,000 parking lots and alleviating the burden resulting from the lack of parking lots.

With the planning implemented, the government in Beijing hopes to improve the traffic condition of the city in the future.
