Gasgoo.com (Shanghai Oct 26)- On October 25th, Beijing passenger-car index management information system website published Announcement of items onthe 5th session of the passenger-car index application examination results and index allocation in 2015. The announcement stated that alternative energy passenger-car index will be allocated to qualified applicants directly in this session, in order to implement the spirit of executive meeting of State Council on September 29th and further promote the development of alternative energy vehicles.
According to the announcement, till 12:00pm of October 8th 2015, the demonstration alternative energy passenger-car index application had 17,150 valid personal coding and 1,513 company coding. The publication of this announcement meant all the qualified applicants would be available for the index.
Gasgoo got news that since Premier Li Keqiang proposed on the executive meeting of State Council held on September 29th that we should support the development of alternative energy and small-displacement vehicles, complete relative supporting policies, and that each city should not restrict car-driving and car-purchasing and should cancel already-implemented policies, Beijing became the second city releasing restricting purchasing index of alternative energy vehicles, after Shenzhen.
However, opponents believed that the release of restricting purchase of alternative energy vehicles may intensify traffic jam because the number of motor vehicles on roads and parking lots across Beijing is achieving its limit. Some said that “Number of vehicles will double in Beijing! Those failing to get license-plate lottery will buy electric cars and already owning one car will buy another electric car!”
Others believed that this policy will result in the charge of jam fees, people are “Rushing to buy electric cars and then rushing to pay jam fees.”
